Participation terms

Last updated 18 August 2026

These terms apply when you submit a clip to the #BackUKTech campaign wall at backuktech.com (the "site"), convened and operated by Cirata Ltd ("we", "us"). By submitting, you agree to them.

1. Your submission

Your clip should be a short, constructive ask to government relevant to UK technology. Keep it to roughly twenty seconds. You are responsible for what you submit.

2. What you confirm

By submitting, you confirm that:

3. Licence you grant us

You keep ownership of your clip. You grant Cirata Ltd a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to host, store, reproduce, caption, display, and distribute your clip, together with your name and any role or organisation you provide, for the purposes of running and promoting the #BackUKTech campaign. This includes showing it on the wall and sharing it on social media and with the press. This licence continues unless and until you ask us to remove your clip.

4. Moderation

Every submission is reviewed before it appears. We may decline, edit accompanying text, decline to caption, or remove any submission at any time and for any reason, without notice. Publication is at our discretion, and appearing on the wall is not an endorsement by us of your views.

5. No payment

Taking part is voluntary and unpaid. You are not entitled to any payment for your submission or its use in the campaign.

6. Removing your clip

You can ask us to remove your clip and associated details at any time by emailing marketing@cirata.com. We will remove it within a reasonable period.

7. Privacy

We handle personal data in line with our privacy notice. Please read it to understand what we collect and why.

8. Liability

The site is provided "as is". To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of the site or from content submitted by participants. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

9. Changes and governing law

We may update these terms from time to time; the date above shows when they last changed. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
